Senior Instructor

Sensei Cesar Bravo, Sr, 4th Degree Black Belt, Yondan, was born and raised in Guerrero, Mexico, where he started practicing Shotokan Karate at 14 years old and earned his first Shodan when he was 19. At the age of 21, he joined the Mexican Police Force and worked with the Special Investigations Unit, and because of his talent and skills, he was promoted to the rank of Commandant.

Sensei Cesar continued his training with his Chief of Police Alberto Palomino, 10th Degree Black belt, and expanded his skills and training with self-defense and Kobudo (weapons). He was also awarded a black belt in those disciplines.

Sensei Cesar Bravo immigrated to the United States with his family and joined the Shoryn Ryu Karate Academy in Utah. Because this was a new style, he decided to start as a White Belt. However, due to his abilities, exceptional skills, and long experience in Martial Arts, he was soon granted his 1st Degree Black Belt in Shoryn Ryu, and a few years later, a 2nd Degree Black Belt by his Sensei Watson, 8th Degree Black Belt.

Sensei Bravo joined the Seleny Joanne Karate Association and the SJ Karate Club in Riverton and became one of the Senior Instructors in Riverton and the Head Instructor in the SJ Karate dojo in Duchesne, Utah. Sensei Cesar tested in March 2020 with his Sandan and earned his 4th Degree Black Belt, Yondan, in December 2022, by the Seleny Joanne Karate Association’s Instructors.

Sensei Cesar Bravo, Sr, is a happily married man and proud of five children, who are also excellent karate practitioners.
