SJK is most interested in teaching children and adults  Karate-Do and self-defense in a safe, respectful, fun, positive, and family environment. Our Instructors have several years of experience working with children and adults without disabilities and with special needs. SJ Karate proudly announces a developed, appropriate, and practical curriculum for children and adults of all ages who are interested in learning Martial Arts as a lifestyle, regardless of whether candidates have any experience in karate background or a disability. At SJK, we teach traditional Shotokan Karate, which is a style of karate developed by Martial Arts Master Gichin Funakoshi (1868–1957) and his son Gigo (Yoshitaka) Funakoshi (1906–1945). Stop the bully and come to practice with us!

ABOUT

Seleny Joanne Karate (SJ Karate) is a proud member of the Amateur Athletic Association -Karate (AAU) and the United States National Karate Federation. Our students compete in official, friendly championships and other Karate events. We have achieved hundreds of medals and trophies in national and international championships. SJK athletes train hard under the direction of former national champions, accredited coaches, and national referees. The AAU served as a leader in international sports, representing the U.S. in the international sports federations. The AAU worked closely with the Olympic movement to prepare athletes for the Olympic Games.

SJK is also proud of having the first official karate tournaments in the great States of Wisconsin and Oklahoma and is planning to continue expanding and promoting traditional Japanese Karate-Do, building new champions, and preparing new leaders.

Senseis David & Seleny, in loving memory of their adorable daughter, changed again the name of their Dojo to Seleny Joanne Karate (SJK) and re-opened in Oklahoma and Wisconsin. Both Senseis are accredited coaches and national referees of the United States National Karate Federation and AAU. They teach quality Karate because they love martial arts, and want to keep expanding traditional martial arts to children and adults. Senseis David and Seleny Crosby, don’t look for profit when teaching but to promote new champions. About Seleny Joanne Karate Club

At Seleny Joanne Karate, “Where Angels Kick,” we teach REAL karate. While many schools charge high fees to teach kids and adults games, musicals, flips, and other activities, they often neglect actual karate techniques—one of the reasons they don’t compete. SJ Karate combines fun with a professional, disciplined, respectful environment, focusing on authentic karate techniques and self-defense. Our students compete at local, state, national, and international levels.

We teach martial arts because we love it — not because we want to make money on you. Unlike other martial arts schools, we do not require you to sign long term contracts. You just pay one low monthly fee for your martial arts and self defense classes at the beginning of each month.
